Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. She also sings. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that left her feeling like a non-person. Her confidence began to grow in the ninth grade when she entered a school audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. Not only did she gain confidence because of the experience, but she also changed the direction of her career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. In the year 23 she made her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. Her biggest break came with the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. Following that she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. She is known as a performer and released her own single and an extended play. In addition, she's an activist who works hard for LGBT rights.
